I have been working as a Psychological Counselor for 12 years now and working as a College Counselor for the past 4 years. Currently, I work in an International school here in Nepal. As a Head of PSHE, College and Pastoral Care Counselor, my responsibilities are - providing students with individual counseling and group counseling for Pastoral Care Counseling. Provide career and university/college guidance to students, interviewing students regarding their future college/university applications and supporting students through this initial process. Providing specific support and advice to students applying to their home countries, such as the USA, the UK, Korea, and other countries. Developing a place in the school where information on colleges, universities, scholarships, and financial aid as well as application procedures can be accessed by students. Helping create and update a database of KISC students' SAT scores, college/university placements, and careers. Taking PSHE classes occasionally and teaching students about healthy relationships, risk-taking, stress management, emotions management, etc. Updating the PSHE curriculum and updating the database regularly. Attending meetings for Homerooms and providing expert opinions when necessary. Attending expert meetings regularly and coming up with plans to help the students at school. Writing every week on the school’s Weekly update regarding Pastoral Care Counseling and College Counseling. Communicating important pieces of information with the students regarding University applications. Being in touch with the university representatives and communicating with them in a regular basis. Attendance seminars, webinars and conferences whenever possible and applicable.
